Ming's Noodle Cafe is located in a fairly nondescript plaza in Scarborough, so it's a little surprising to discover that they're churning out some seriously tasty eats.
We arrived a little before noon on a recent weekday and were shown to a sweet booth in the corner of the restaurant. (Or maybe not so sweet; it took an awfully long time for our waitress to take our order.)
We were presented with several extensive menus, so it did take quite a well to settle on a dish. I eventually decided to try the Fried Vermicelli Home Style, mostly because I wanted to get something with noodles in it (on account of the joint's name, you see).
It arrived a short time later and it's good. It didn't seem any different to me than most Singapore Noodle dishes I've had over the years, but all the components were quite tasty and the portion was admittedly enormous.
But what really kicked the dish up several notches was the table-side chili oil. Though it's not really spicy, the chili oil boasts an irresistible (and kind of sweet) flavor that really enhances every bite of the noodles. I liked it so much that I bought a bottle to take home. -

lots of menu items/selection!
service was great, sat down right away and got our orders taken very quickly.
i ordered the french toast with condensed milk and peanut butter... skipped out on the PB though - the waitress was accommodating. i also ordered the fish ball noodle soup. so simple but delicious.
tip: it is CASH only! we didn't know this until we went up to pay. thankfully our server was understanding and polite as she let us go to the bank and come back to pay for our bill.
will definitely be back! -

This is the only place in the GTA that I know of that makes these delicious deep fried intestines (those red ones with pickled carrots). It's a cute HK cafe with specials during different times of the day. Btw this place isnt the cleanest looking, so keep it in mind if you go. Either way, the food is delicious, very good portions for the price. I will definitely be back again to try different things!

Pros:
Lots of variety in menu
Lots of specials throughout day
Cons:
Parking can be tough during peak hours
250th review!! Of course it has to be an HK style cafe. Ming's is your quintessential HK style cafe and then some. You will find everything you expect and a couple of other unique things as well. Ming's is quickly becoming one of go to choices.
As soon as you walk in, you'll notice that Ming's is much larger than your average HK style cafe. There's a large amount of booths and tables. Even with all that, it is still very busy during peak times. Turnover is rather quick so you won't be waiting too long.
The menu is just as vast. They have multiple categories with multiple choices with in. There are specials and combos throughout the day for cheaper then usual eats. Breakfast, lunch, tea time or dinner, there are specials for all meals of the day.
The food comes out rather quickly and the portions are fair for their prices. Taste wise, I have never been disappointed here. The sauce on the baked rices are a little on the thicker side compared to other places. Ming's is pretty much old school so they don't tinker too much with the HK style formula. You know what to expect when you come here.
The parking lot is shared with a lot of other businesses including the very popular Allen's bakery. During peak times you might have trouble finding a spot. -

I've been a loyal customer with my parents since 2006 or so. The food here is definitely consistent through the many years we've visited. The canto classics (congee, noodles, fried rice) are definitely their strong points. Their milk tea is always on point. Their cha chan tang baked rice sauces need some work. We definitely do get better service and small perks for being a regular here. If you're interested for a solid cha chan teng experience, I'd recommend it here.
